VHIT S.p.A. Società Unipersonale (Vacuum & Hydraulic products ITaly) has been a business unit of the BOSCH Group since 1996. Situated in the province of Cremona, in the north of Italy, VHIT specializes in producing single and combined vacuum pumps (vacuum plus oil or fuel) in the automotive field as well as variable oil pumps. Thanks to its decennial experience VHIT has so become in a short time the international competence centre in such technology for the whole group.

In addition to vacuum and oil pumps VHIT has been experienced for many years in manufacturing brake master cylinders and  brake differential master cylinders in the agricultural tractors’ and off-road machines’ fields.

In the plant about 500 people work, whose common aim is to satisfy customers more and more exigent requirements in step with Bosch ethics principles. That is why great attention is paid to fundamental departments like Research and Development, Quality, Sales, Purchasing and Production, so that challenges can not be only an obstacle but an opportunity to improve.

The Bari Bosch site, made up of  Diesel Common Rail injection system components manufacturing plant  (Tecnologie Diesel e Sistemi Frenanti S.p.A.) and Research & Development Center for  Common Rail projects (Centro Studi Componenti per Veicoli S.p.A.), with more than  2 thousand associates, is one of the most important companies in Southern Italy area and the largest Automotive industry in Apulia.

Bari Bosch site has played a key role in the Common Rail history which has changed diesel engine.
The first prototype of common rail high-pressure pump, indeed, was designed in Bari in 1988 and further developed and industrialized up to series production.

Bosch Group philosophy has found rich soil in Bari plant, where, since some years, relevant measures for environmental defense have been introduced.
This engagement translates into CO2 emissions reduction, main resources use optimization, such as electric power, gas, water, wood and oil, and their subsequent disposal.
In order to handle these issues, a new program has been implemented, called “Linea Verde”, aiming at continuous research in process improvement and solutions for eco-friendly production”.
